Lakshman built a cottage for Rama and Sita, and there they all lived a simple and humble life for many years. The sages and hermits of the surrounding forest often came to visit them, and requested help with the rakshasa demons who were attacking and killing sages. Rama and Lakshman killed many man-eating demons over the years.
