All of Ravana’s generals had been killed and now Ravana himself challenged Rama. For the occasion Indra had given Rama a golden chariot, and the two faced each other in a mighty battle.

Rama shot arrows that severed Ravana’s heads, but as each head fell, another grew back as Ravana continued to shoot arrows at Rama. Finally Rama fixed a great mystical arrow to His bow and shot Ravana in the heart, killing him.
